There are fishing opportunities in southeast Alaska to satisfy just about every saltwater angler. In fact, the opportunities are so great that the choice can be a little overwhelmining. Everyone who has ever dangled a hook from a boat knows that to be successful, you must be in the right place at the right time. The publication: Salmon holes & halibut hills: a sport fishing atlas of southeast Alaska. Alaska Department of Fish and Game ©1989., is a guide that has been assembled to make better informed choices on where to fish in the saltwater areas of southeast Alaska, specifically, for salmon and halibut. The areas included in the original publicaion maps have been digitized and now included in this layer for the Juneau Sport Fish management area. The locations identified are known to concentrate salmon and halibut more than adjacent waters. |
