Description: Includes areas designated by the Board of Game with special regulations as related to wildlife, e.g. Controlled Use, Management and Closed areas; and the state's Legistlative Designated Areas, e.g. Critical Habitat Areas, Refuges and Sanctuaries. These files describe ADFG Controlled-Use, Closed, and Management (Special) areas that may be subject to restrictions or other regulatory conditions and are intended to be used for management mapping purposes only. They have not been ground truthed and should not be relied upon for compliance with statutes and regulations. The legal descriptions for these Special area boundaries are found in state regulation at 5 AAC 92.510-550. Also included are the Alaska Legislatively Designated Areas, including refuges, sanctuaries, critical habitat areas, ranges, etc. which may have additional regulations as included in AS Title 16, Chapter 20.
